Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during our first session?

Our first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll ask a few questions about what’s bringing you in, and we’ll go at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

Do I need to have a specific issue or diagnosis to start therapy?

How often will I attend therapy?

Not at all. Therapy can support you whether you’re
facing something specific or simply want to reconnect with yourself.

Most of my clients attend weekly. I have limited bi-weekly slots open to individuals who have been with me for a longer period of time and who do not need the frequency of weekly therapy. These are individuals who are more focused on maintaining the gains they have made with weekly therapy.

What types of therapy do you offer?

I use a wide range of approaches depending on each clients need. I utilize EMDR, somatic therapy, polygaval work and parts work; as well as more traditional methods such as CBT and DBT

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, all sessions are virtual. I’m currently licensed to work with clients in the following states: CT, MA, NH, VT and FL. Clients would need to be in one of these states at the time of the session.

What are your cancelation fees?

What are your cancelation fees? I request 48 hours’ notice for all cancelations to avoid a charge. Everyone is granted 1 cancelation with no charge no matter when you cancel. Outside of that, my cancelation fee is $125.00.

How do I book a session?

You can reach out through my contact form or email
me directly. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if it’s a good fit before scheduling a full session.

I already have a therapist, but need help with something they don’t specialize in. Can I work with you as well?

I do sometimes work with individuals who may not want to leave their therapist but need targeted support for their disordered eating or eating disorder, or with EMDR. We can talk about your individual situation and determine if this would be a therapeutic option.

What are your fees?

I’m a man who has been reluctant to enter therapy, do you work with men?

I work with all genders and have a lot of experience working with men facing a multitude of problems arising in their life, including relationship problems, trauma healing, and eating and body image struggles. I encourage you to reach out.

Do you work with children and teenagers?

At this time, I do not work with those under 18 years old.

My younger adult child wants to schedule with you, Can I schedule on their behalf?

I do not schedule appointments through parents or caregivers and will need to speak with the prospective client themselves.

It’s hard to find privacy at home. How can I attend therapy given this?

Some of my clients choose to engage in therapy from their vehicle, at work, in the basement or will use headphones for extra privacy.

I want to start therapy. How do I fit it in my schedule If I work during the day?

This can be difficult. I do offer some evening hours; however if these are full; I find that clients can speak with their boss/work and take time off during the workday for therapy. They often will go out to their vehicle or into a private space to engage in teletherapy. I understand this may not be possible for everyone, but If you have a job and boss who has flexibility, this may be an option.
