Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body, recognizing that trauma and stress are often stored physically. By incorporating techniques such as mindfulness, breathwork, and movement, somatic therapy helps individuals become more aware of their bodily sensations and release stored tension.
When integrated into therapy, it allows clients to process trauma not just cognitively but also physically, facilitating a more holistic healing experience. This approach can enhance emotional regulation and resilience, as clients learn to listen to and trust their body's signals. Overall, somatic therapy supports a deeper level of healing by addressing both the psychological and physiological aspects of well-being.

Somatics:

Polyvagal theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the autonomic nervous system's role in emotional regulation and social connection. In therapy, utilizing polyvagal theory involves helping clients recognize and respond to their physiological states, which are influenced by the vagus nerve's pathways. By fostering awareness of these states, clients can learn to shift from survival responses, such as fight-or-flight, to a state of safety and social engagement.
This approach emphasizes creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel secure and supported, enabling them to explore their emotions and experiences more freely. Through techniques that promote self-regulation and resilience, polyvagal-informed therapy helps individuals build a foundation for emotional stability and improved interpersonal relationships.

This method is often associated with Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which views the mind as a system of sub-personalities.
In therapy, parts work involves identifying and understanding these different parts, fostering communication and harmony among them. The goal is to integrate these parts into a cohesive whole, allowing individuals to achieve greater self-awareness and emotional balance. By recognizing and addressing the needs and concerns of each part, clients can resolve internal conflicts and reduce feelings of fragmentation. This approach empowers individuals to embrace their full range of experiences, promoting healing and personal growth through a compassionate and non-judgmental exploration of the self.

Parts Work:

EMDR is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach for addressing trauma and distressing memories. By facilitating the brain's natural healing process, EMDR helps clients reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories, leading to greater emotional regulation and improved quality of life.

In addition to utilizing EMDR to heal from trauma, I utilize EMDR for clients who have a wide range of concerns including Anxiety, Addictions and Eating Disorders. I’m a Certified Eating Disorder Therapist and Consultant in Training through EMDRIA.

By focusing on gentle nutrition and joyful movement, Intuitive Eating supports sustainable habits and self-compassion, aiding in the healing from disordered eating and improving body image. Overall, it provides a balanced, non-judgmental framework for achieving lifelong well-being. I trained with the Original IE Pros and am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used, evidence-based approach that focuses on the interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I offer therapy to those seeking recovery from trauma, eating disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the challenges of life transitions. My work is deeply rooted in helping individuals who may have felt alone, out of place, or neglected throughout life, including those who have prioritized others' needs before their own and are now seeking to shift those patterns.

I have extensive experience working with veterans, first responders, and military personnel, both in dedicated roles and private practice, where I am honored to contribute to their healing journeys. Additionally, I am committed to assisting mothers, fathers, and caregivers who strive to balance their own well-being while attending to the needs of others. These diverse groups often share a common pursuit of strength and connection, and I am dedicated to guiding them toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

1.Individual Therapy: 

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming home to yourself.

I offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms.

I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while Journey Clinical’s medical team supports you on all medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine and monitoring outcomes. 

2. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy: 

For Therapists seeking guidance around EMDR casework, integration or accruing hours for certification. As a Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant in Training, I offer consultation and support as you deepen your own clinician skills and confidence. As a CIT, I can provide 15 of the 20 needed hours to obtain certification for EMDR. I meet regularly with my supervisor and deepen my knowledge through ongoing training.

For therapists or companies seeking guidance around eating disorder cases, for those who may be working in Eating Disorder Treatment facilities who may need additional support and consultation or for those working towards IAEDP CEDS Certification.
