In the depths of struggle, there lies the power to transform. You are not defined by your darkest days

Embarking on the journey of therapy or transitioning to a new therapist can be a challenging and daunting step. At Steady Ground Therapy and Consulting, My practice is built on the pillars of compassion, kindness, trust, and time, which I believe are essential elements in creating a safe space where individuals can feel secure and open to growth

You are allowed to take time to heal. Recovery is possible.

You don’t have to shrink to deserve care.
As a Health at Every Size®-aligned therapist, I reject diet culture and weight stigma. I believe in body liberation, and I support all clients—regardless of size, shape, or ability—in reclaiming body trust and dignity.

Every Body Is Worthy:

You are not a problem to fix; you are a person to understand. I approach symptoms like bingeing, restriction, dissociation, or anxiety with curiosity, not control. These are adaptive strategies rooted in survival, and we’ll explore them with gentleness and compassion.

Compassion Over Control:

Your story matters, and so does your nervous system. Whether we’re using EMDR, somatic tools, or talk therapy, I stay attuned to how your body holds trauma. Therapy is not about rehashing the past—it’s about helping your system feel safe in the present.

Trauma-Informed, Always:

You are the expert on your life.
I work alongside you, not above you. Your voice, values, and lived experience shape our work. Therapy is a co-creation, guided by your needs and your definition of healing.

Collaborative and Client-Centered:

There is no shame in the ways you’ve learned to survive. Behaviors related to food, substance use, or other addictions often arise from deep emotional pain, unmet needs, or trauma responses. I hold compassionate space for all parts of your experience—without judgment, only understanding and care.

Non-Judgment:

Reclaiming your story begins with reclaiming your choices.
Trauma, eating disorders, and addictions can all disrupt your sense of agency and control. Our work together is about gently restoring that power. You are the expert on your own experiences, and I honor that by supporting you in leading the way. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you, respecting your boundaries as you rebuild trust with yourself and reclaim a life guided by your values.

Autonomy:
